Medical oncology

The Medical Oncology Division specializes in the treatment of solid tumor cancers and research dedicated to improving therapy of solid tumor cancers which include but are not limited to genitourinary, breast, head and neck, thyroid, and lung.

The Markey Cancer Center's dedicated multidisciplinary treatment teams, including physicians from all subspecialties, nurses, pharmacists, and researchers, work together to provide coordinated care for all treatments. Beginning with the initial diagnosis through survivorship, the Medical Oncology teams are prepared to give the best patient care possible.

Markey has provided state-of-the-art cancer care for more than 30 years, and we are proud to be the only cancer center in Kentucky designated by the National Cancer Institute. Since 2017, Markey Cancer Center has been nationally recognized as a top 50 cancer center by U.S. News & World Report.

Patients are seen in a supportive environment where they are offered the latest advances in surgical, radiation, and chemotherapeutic intervention.

For convenience, we offer two clinics at the Whitney-Hendrickson Building on the Markey Cancer Center campus. These clinics offer a comfortable atmosphere for patients and their families and free parking immediately next to the building.

The Medical Oncology Division is dedicated to teaching our science to the public, patients, medical students, residents and fellows.
