Wondering About Your Family's History of Cancer?
Research shows that most cancer cases are not caused by a cancer risk that is passed down in a person's family. However, an increased risk of developing cancer does run in some families. This is called a hereditary cancer risk. If you are wondering if you or a family member has an increased risk of developing cancer because of a hereditary cancer risk, you may benefit from the Markey Cancer Center's Clinical Genetic Counseling Program.
