If your treatment is successful and there's no cancer, you'll enter a period of close monitoring called surveillance. This follow-up care includes regular check-ups with your oncologist for the next five years.
For more advanced Merkel cell carcinoma, your treatment plan may include a combination of ongoing therapies. You’ll also continue to see your dermatologist, who will watch for signs of any new skin cancers.
