Community Advisory Board

The Research Integration team manages Markey’s Community Advisory Board (CAB), which advises Markey Cancer Center Director Dr. Mark Evers on overall center activities and ensures that Markey serves the community needs across the state. The CAB was created in 2017, and the membership was strategically restructured in 2021 and is now comprised of 12 community members and organization representatives from all regions of the state who reflect the diversity of the catchment area.

The CAB meets monthly via Zoom and provides important input on things such as the Kentucky Cancer Needs Assessment, Markey Cancer Center’s Strategic Plan, Markey Cancer Center research priorities, and outreach activities. The CAB also reviews applications for CCSG pilots and COE funding opportunities.
