About
Rayli Pichardo, MD, joins the UK Markey Cancer Center as a medical oncologist who treats breast and gastrointestinal cancers.
She always knew she wanted to help others, and that desire solidified when her father was diagnosed with lymphoma. That experience led her to a career in cancer care.
Dr. Pichardo earned her medical degree from the University of Carabobo in Venezuela. She completed her internal medicine residency at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, her palliative and hospice care fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, and her hematology and oncology fellowship at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Dr. Pichardo is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. She is also the author of numerous articles, abstracts and presentations. She has volunteered for the Red Cross and provided free care to underserved patients at a hospital in Valencia, Venezuela.
