treatment

Outstanding cancer care requires an unparalleled team. Our specialists in medical oncology, chemotherapy, radiation medicine and pathology all work and consult together to deliver you the most effective treatments. Your treatment options will depend on the type of ear cancer, as well as the stage of the cancer and where the ear cancer is located.

Patients with advanced, or metastatic, ear cancers may benefit from immunotherapy offered through our clinical trials. Immunotherapy helps strengthen the immune system so it can fight the cancer.

We also offer reconstruction surgery if we need to remove a large portion of the ear. Reconstruction can help patients hear and improve balance issues.

At Markey, we have experienced ear, nose and throat surgeons, dedicated to treating cancers of the head and neck such as ear cancer. We treat most ear cancers using surgery. First, we’ll remove the tumor as well as some surrounding tissue to ensure we remove as much of the cancer as possible. Then we’ll follow up with radiation therapy to kill any remaining cancer cells. Occasionally, we’ll also use chemotherapy to treat ear cancer.
