Methods we use to diagnose ear cancer include:
Biopsy: If the cancer is on the outer ear or near the ear opening, we may remove a small tissue sample. Our pathologists will study the sample under a microscope to look for signs of cancer.
Imaging: If the suspected tumor is located in the inner ear, we will not do a biopsy. Instead, we will perform an imaging test, such as magnetic resonance imaging or a CT scan to look for signs of cancer.
