- Make sure you keep any scheduled appointments with your cardiology team.
- Take any medicines exactly as directed.
- Tell your providers about any new symptoms you experience.
You should know the symptoms of a heart attack, so you can recognize them and seek emergency care.
Symptoms can include:
- Chest pain, pressure or discomfort
- Cold sweat
- Dizziness
- Lightheadedness
- Pain or discomfort in the arms, shoulders, neck, abdomen, jaw, neck or back
- Shortness of breath
If you have these symptoms or think you may be having a heart attack, it is important to call 911 right away. Do not try to drive yourself to the hospital; instead, wait for EMS to respond.
