Pediatric developmental and behavioral conditions are also encompassed within our spectrum of services. We offer a full span of diagnostic services available through the UK Developmental Pediatrics Clinic to help uncover complex developmental-behavioral conditions, as well as offer multidisciplinary assessments in conjunction with other pediatric therapy providers, such as speech and occupational therapists, to help patients and families cope with the everyday management of those conditions.
When a child isn’t developing at a rate considered to be normal or is exhibiting signs of a neurodevelopmental disorder, that can be worrisome for parents. But it’s important to note that early intervention and treatment can make a significant difference.
If you or your pediatrician believe your child may have a neurodevelopmental disorder, the UK Developmental Pediatrics Clinic offers comprehensive diagnostic and evaluation services to help you determine your next steps. Our team of experts has extensive experience in diagnosing and guiding treatment for neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder
- Developmental/behavioral difficulties associated with complex medical conditions
- Global developmental delays
- Intellectual disabilities
While your child’s treatment plan will be individualized based on his or her medical condition and other needs, it may include treatment from a multidisciplinary team of Kentucky Children’s Hospital medical providers and UK Pediatric Therapies.
When a child experiences a neurodevelopmental disorder, it doesn’t just affect development and behavior. The effects of such a disorder can be far-reaching and require the collaborative care of a team of medical providers. Our clinic provides a multidisciplinary assessment and medical treatment for children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
At Kentucky Children’s Hospital, our providers work together as a team to provide full spectrum treatment for the whole child. That means everyone from a child’s pediatrician to the experts of the Developmental Pediatrics Clinic to speech and language pathologists and occupational therapists can come together to provide truly comprehensive care.
As with every aspect of care provided at Kentucky Children’s Hospital, we are guided by our mission to offer family-centered care. That means that when your child is receiving care from our medical team, we are also providing your family with the compassion, support and guidance you need along the way.
