Adults and children with orthopaedic cancer — bone and soft tissue tumors, as well as tumor-like conditions that affect the musculoskeletal system — require multidisciplinary care from a team representing both oncology and orthopaedics. The musculoskeletal oncology experts at UK Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine work in combination with the renowned Markey Cancer Center to provide this advanced service to patients.

In addition to evaluating primary bone tumors, the musculoskeletal oncology experts with UK Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine also have specialized knowledge about treating other orthopaedic issues. Those issues include arthritis, avascular necrosis, fractures and osteoporosis, that can develop in patients undergoing cancer treatment.
