The UK HealthCare Gynecologic Oncology team treats women with cancers that affect the reproductive system, including cervical cancer, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer and vaginal and vulvar cancer.
Treatment options include minimally invasive surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. We also offer ongoing gynecological clinical trials that give patients access to the newest drugs and chemotherapy methods.
You’ll get personalized, compassionate care from a team of cancer specialists focused on treating you as an individual.
Worried you’re at risk for uterine cancer or another gynecological cancer? We have genetic counselors who can help assess your risk.

Ovarian Cancer Screening
Early detection is vital to surviving ovarian cancer. That’s why the UK Markey Cancer Center Ovarian Screening Program was started in 1987.
The program offers free ovarian cancer screenings by transvaginal ultrasound to postmenopausal women who are:
- Over the age of 50.
- Over the age of 25 with a documented family history of ovarian cancer.
We provide ovarian screenings throughout Kentucky in Lexington, Elizabethtown, Somerset, Prestonsburg, Maysville, Paducah and Greenup and on the 3rd floor of the Whitney Hendrickson Building at Markey Cancer Center.
Cervical Cancer Screening
We screen patients for conditions such as HPV, which indicates a higher risk of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and invasive cervical cancer.
Ask your doctor for more information on upcoming screenings and how screenings may help you.
