Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Multiple babies, diabetes, vascular disease and a history of preterm birth are just some of the risk factors for high-risk pregnancy. Rest assured, the UK Maternal-Fetal Medicine team will give you and your baby the extra support you need throughout your pregnancy and delivery.

Our maternal-fetal medicine doctors are specialists in the diagnosis and management of high-risk pregnancies. We offer extensive ultrasound services, amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, prenatal genetic counseling and more to help ensure you have a healthy pregnancy.

In case you need it, we have a state-of-the-art NICU that offers the latest diagnostics and therapies for premature and sick infants.

Maternal-Fetal Medicine Telehealth

Telehealth appointments – also called telemedicine – are virtual appointments where you and your high-risk obstetrician talk via videoconference. Learn more about this service »

Katy Schaftlein and baby SadieQuintuplets arrive at UK, granting mom a special birthday wish

The smallest of the quintuplets, Sadie, defied her size with her energy, churning her legs inside and out of the womb. Her sister Scarlett, on the other hand, established herself as the calm and docile member of the bunch. And family members have already pinned Lucas, the sole boy in the group, as the sweetheart – perhaps a future golfer, his dad speculated. Read the Schaftleins' story »
