School vaccines available through UK Retail Pharmacies

Does your child need vaccines for the upcoming school year?

UK Retail Pharmacies offer an easy and convenient way to get your kids their required shots.

Located at 245 Fountain Court, Room 220, off Man O' War near Richmond Road, the UK Pharmacist Care Clinic offers all the vaccinations needed for school, including:

• Hepatitis A&B
• DTaP
• Tetanus
• MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)
• Pneumococcal pneumonia
• And more

The clinic's friendly and experienced staff are trained in providing vaccines to children.

Vaccinations are available Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed for lunch from 1 to 1:30 p.m.). Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

UK Retail Pharmacies pausing COVID vaccinations until new fall doses arrive

Due to a supply chain shortage of the current COVID vaccine, UK Retail Pharmacies are pausing COVID vaccinations in anticipation of an updated vaccine coming this fall.

The updated vaccine is projected to be available at UK Retail Pharmacies by early September.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CD) recommends that everyone ages 6 months and older receive an updated COVID vaccine this fall. Updated vaccines provide better protection as immunity from past vaccinations or infections decreases over time. The public can expect a yearly vaccine update, similar to the annual flu shot.

While COVID vaccinations may be on hold, UK Retail Pharmacies continue to offer vaccinations for hepatitis A&B, shingles, pneumococcal pneumonia, tetanus and more. One-stop testing and treatment for COVID, as well as flu, strep and UTIs is also available. Services vary by location. Visit ukpharmacy.org to learn more.

UK Retail Pharmacies have officially been named the Best Pharmacies in Lexington in Smiley Pete's Best of Lex awards. This honor is a testament to the outstanding service and commitment to health UK Retail Pharmacies consistently provides to the community. 

The Best of Lex awards, presented by Smiley Pete Publications, which includes the Chevy Chaser and Southsider magazines, celebrates local businesses that go above and beyond in serving their customers and the community. With over 260,000 votes cast across all categories, UK Retail Pharmacies took first place in the Pharmacy category.
