Infusion Services

UK Infusion Center

Welcome

UK HealthCare Infusion Services, part of the UK Specialty Pharmacy, offers two convenient outpatient infusion options for non-oncology patients being treated for inflammatory disease states, neurology, allergy, immunology, nephrology, transplant, and many others.

Gill Infusion Services is a hospital-based outpatient infusion suite. Located on the main UK medical campus inside the Jack and Linda Gill Building, offers nine infusion spaces. (See directions and parking information below.)

Wellington Infusion Services is the off-campus infusion suite of UK HealthCare and UK Specialty Pharmacy. This location is not hospital-based. The facility, located at 531 Wellington Way in South Lexington, opened in 2020 and is state-of-the-art, with free surface parking right outside the front door. It offers nine infusion chairs, with room to grow.

Hours for both facilities are Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We have free WiFi, and iPads available to help pass the time during treatment.

Regardless of which location is right for you, you will be in good hands. Our highly trained pharmacists provide education during each patient’s first infusion and are here to answer any questions you may have about your medications throughout your treatment.

We are here to make your infusion as painless and comfortable as possible, and your time with us as pleasant as possible. Please see our list of answers to Frequently Asked Questions. If you have questions that are not answered here, please let us know.

Appointments

Please arrive at your scheduled treatment time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, your visit may need to be rescheduled for another time. If you think you will be running late, please call us to determine if the infusion center will be able to accommodate the delay.

Insurance

If you have health insurance, our department must have a copy of each health insurance card before we can bill the insurance. If you do not have your health insurance card, you will be registered as a full-pay patient until a copy of the card(s) is provided to us. It is your responsibility to know your health insurance coverage and benefits. It is also your responsibility to notify us of any changes to your health insurance coverage.

As stated above, Gill Infusion is hospital-based and Wellington Infusion is not. Your insurance may prefer one location over another due to this. Billing procedures for each location are different, as well.

If you do not have health insurance, please ask our front desk staff about information for financial counseling. Our department will assist UK HealthCare in filing your claim.

If you have questions about your therapy bill or need to request an itemized statement, please contact patient billing Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at 859-257-7900 or 800-967-2131 (toll free).
