UK Retail Pharmacy hours for Independence Day, July 3
In observance of Independence Day, hours at some UK Retail Pharmacy locations will change on Friday, July 3.
Chandler Retail Pharmacy will remain open through the holiday. This location, on the first floor of Chandler Pavilion A behind the gift shop, NEVER CLOSES.
UK Good Samaritan Retail Pharmacy, Fountain Court Retail Pharmacy and Turfland Clinic Retail Pharmacy will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 3.
Staff at these locations can access all prescriptions in our system.
Kentucky Clinic Pharmacy, Bluegrass Clinic Pharmacy and The Apothecary at UK Gatton Student Center will be closed July 3.
UK Pharmacist Care Clinic, UK Specialty Pharmacy & Infusion Services and the UK DME Store will also be closed July 3.
All locations will resume regular hours on Saturday, July 4.

Summer hours at The Apothecary begin May 18
Starting Monday, May 18, hours at The Apothecary will change for the summer. The UK Retail Pharmacy will be open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Apothecary, a full-service UK Retail Pharmacy location, is on the first floor of the UK Gatton Student Center across from the Cats’ Den. Like all UK Retail Pharmacies, The Apothecary offers the lowest prescription prices in Lexington, as well as vaccinations, over-the-counter medications and free mail delivery for most prescriptions. The pharmacy is open to everyone and accepts most insurance plans.
The Apothecary will return to regular hours Monday, Aug. 17.
UK Retail Pharmacies are full-service pharmacies, with six locations in Lexington open to everyone and one, the Bluegrass Clinic Pharmacy in Beaumont, open to UK employees and patients of the UK Bluegrass Care Clinic.

Three‑peat: UK Retail Pharmacies again named Best of Lex
UK Retail Pharmacies are celebrating another major honor after being named Lexington’s Best Pharmacies in Smiley Pete’s Best of Lex awards. This is the fifth community‑voted win for the pharmacies in just three years.
“We’re honored to be recognized once again by the Lexington community,” said Dan Grantz, PharmD, senior director of Retail & Community Pharmacy Services. “This award reflects the patient‑centered care and dependable service our team works hard to deliver every day, and we’re grateful to our community for supporting us year after year.”This latest win marks the third consecutive Best of Lex honor for UK Retail Pharmacies, alongside two Lexington Herald‑Leader Best of Lexington awards. The Best of Lex awards are presented by Smiley Pete Publications, the local publisher behind the Chevy Chaser and Southsider magazines.
Community votes determine the winners of both Smiley Pete’s Best of Lex and the Lexington Herald‑Leader’s Best of Lexington awards, recognizing businesses that go above and beyond in serving their customers.
UK Retail Pharmacies are full‑service pharmacies, with six locations in Lexington open to everyone and one — the Bluegrass Clinic Pharmacy in Beaumont — open to UK employees and patients of the UK Bluegrass Care Clinic. Additional locations include the June Buchanan Clinic Retail Pharmacy in Hindman and the North Fork Valley Clinic Retail Pharmacy in Hazard, plus a Richmond location opening later this year. Most insurance plans are accepted.
