Every diabetes case is different. We will work with you to develop a personalized treatment according to your specific needs. If you have DKA, you may be treated in the emergency room or admitted to the hospital. Your plan may use a combination of approaches that include:

  • Receiving fluids through an IV
  • Receiving insulin to reverse the effects of DKA
  • Replacing electrolytes like potassium, as having too little insulin can lower electrolyte levels
  • Taking medication for underlying conditions, such as antibiotics for infection
