Residency Year: August 24, 2026 – August 31, 2027
Stipend: $43,050 + paid time off and full employee benefits
CPE Training: Sequential Curriculum for 3 units of Clinical Pastoral Education
Tuition: $250 for each CPE unit ($750 total)
Requisites: Graduate degree in theology or spiritual care and one prior unit of ACPE Accredited Clinical Pastoral Education
Accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education to provide Level I & II CPE and Certified Educator Candidate CPE, UK HealthCare is a 945-bed academic health center, an adult and pediatric Level I Trauma Center with numerous specializations in patient-centered advanced care medicine. This includes UK Markey Cancer Center, Kentucky Children’s Hospital, UK Gill Heart & Vascular Institute, Kentucky Neuroscience Institute, UK Transplant Center, UK Good Samaritan Hospital, and multiple complex care services.
This CPE Center works in collaboration with UK Graduate Medical Education (GME) and several UK health colleges. Chaplains serve as an integral interdisciplinary clinical care component of patient, family and staff support at UK HealthCare, making this an ideal context for deepening in the art and practice of spiritual care and developing a wide breadth and depth of competencies toward board certification as a professional chaplain.
