Transform Health – University Health Service
Transform Health is a partnership of UK HealthCare providers who offer safe, evidence-based care to address many of the unique medical needs of people in the LGBTQ+ community.
University Health Service (UHS)
All full-time UK students pay a mandatory health fee that entitles them to office visits at UHS for free. Health insurance coverage is strongly recommended for expenses not covered by the health fee, including most diagnostic procedures, surgery, hospitalization and prescription medicine.
Transform Health Services for UK undergraduate and graduate students
All UHS providers see LGBTQ-spectrum patients for primary care, PrEP, sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing, gynecological care and other services.
Our Transform providers at UHS offer specialized gender-affirming care. The clinic hours are limited and are offered in-person or via telehealth, depending on the provider. When making an appointment, please let the appointment scheduler know if you are seeking hormone therapy (must be 19 or older).
Our services
- Primary care (including chronic care for health conditions, basic mental health care, cancer screenings, and screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections)
- PrEP (for HIV prevention)
- Hormone therapy for students 19 and over*
- Mental health care referrals (both in and out of student services or UK)
- Surgery referrals (both in and out of UK)*
*UK providers practice in accordance with Kentucky law and federal orders. Therefore, we cannot provide puberty-blocking treatment or hormones to those under 19.
