Patient Centeredness

At UK HealthCare, we take a patient-centered approach to care. We focus on each patient as a unique individual, not just an illness or a set of symptoms. We work in partnership with patients and their families to make sure every decision takes into account their wants, needs and preferences.

By encouraging better communication among the patient, the patient’s family and medical staff, patient-centered health care has been shown to:

  • Improve patient health
  • Lessen symptoms
  • Reduce chances of a misdiagnosis due to poor communication
  • Encourage patients to comply with their treatment regimens

This approach also may reduce the unnecessary use of resources and lessen overall health care costs.

  • Patient Satisfaction (Higher is Better)
