Woman putting in contact lensesSpecialty contact lenses are for patients who require contact lenses due to a medical condition. UK Advanced Eye Care provides fittings for patients with conditions including:

  • Corneal ectasia.
  • Irregular astigmatism.
  • Keratoconus.
  • Dry eye syndrome.
  • Post-refractive surgery.
  • Aphakia.
  • Presbyopia.

We fit the following types of lenses:

  • Rigid gas permeable contact lenses.
  • Scleral lenses.
  • Hybrid lenses.
  • Prosthetic colored contact lenses.

We provide low-vision services for patients who have vision loss from a variety of eye conditions, such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and many other ocular diseases. These services are focused on helping patients adjust to vision loss and maximizing their remaining vision.

During most exams, a provider will make sure that the patient has the most accurate glasses prescription, recommend training on low-vision devices, train on low-vision devices and refer patients for any additional services they may need.
