Steve W. Leung, MD
About
Dr. Steve Leung is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, Tenn. He completed a medicine residency at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, N.C. and cardiovascular medicine fellowship at University of Kentucky, Lexington. He also completed a two-year advanced cardiovascular imaging fellowship at the National Institutes of Health.
He returned to the University of Kentucky Gill Heart Institute in 2012 and serves as an associate professor in cardiovascular medicine, the Associate Director of Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging, and Associate Program Director of the Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship. He is a member of the Cardiovascular Imaging Research Team (CVIRT), Saha Cardiovascular Research Center, Heart Working Group and Center for Muscle Biology. His clinical and research interests include cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging, cardiovascular computed tomography, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, resident and fellow cardiovascular medicine education.
Dr. Leung is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Medicine. I am also board certified by the National Board of Echocardiography and the Council for Certification in Cardiovascular Imaging (nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular computed tomography).
