Personal Statement
I decided that I wanted to treat cerebrovascular diseases when I saw my grandfather suffer from a stroke causing him a lot of disability and difficulty for his caretakers in the family. Later in my residency, I saw a young mother die from an aneurysm that had bled and she couldn't get care on time. In my fellowship, I saw first hand how patients similar to my grandfather and people with even more complex disorders of the blood vessels of the brain and spine can be treated successfully and have a very good chance at living a productive life, thanks to the rapid advancements in neurointerventional surgery over the last two decades. I believe in compassionate and direct care for my patients. I believe that the patients should be equal partners in their care and deserve to be made aware of all the options available to them. With the best available expertise from me and my team, our patients can be confident of choosing the safest and the best treatment plan.
In my free time, I like to cook, travel, dance and listen to music.
