Dr. Mautin Barry-Hundeyin is a surgical oncologist at the UK Markey Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. She cares for patients with liver, pancreas, bile duct, stomach, colon, small bowel, and rare abdominal cancers, such as sarcomas and peritoneal surface malignancies (including peritoneal carcinomatosis). Whether you're facing a new diagnosis or exploring treatment options, she is here to support you every step of the way —with the expertise of a highly trained surgical oncologist and the heart of a trusted advocate.
Dr. Barry-Hundeyin offers both traditional and minimally invasive surgery, including robotic-assisted techniques. She works closely with a multidisciplinary team of cancer experts to create personalized, comprehensive treatment plans for each patient.
Dr. Barry-Hundeyin earned her medical degree at Pennsylvania State University, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society, a distinction awarded to the top medical students in the nation. She completed her general surgery residency at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, followed by a research fellowship at New York University, where she published important studies in pancreatic cancer tumor immunology. She later completed a highly competitive complex general surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, one of the world's premier cancer centers.
Throughout her training and career, Dr. Barry-Hundeyin has received numerous awards for excellence in patient care, reflecting her deep commitment to providing thoughtful, attentive and compassionate care.
