W. Scott Black serves as the medical director of UK Employee Health and is also a team physician for the UK Wildcats and the EKU Colonels. He is a graduate of the UK College of Medicine and completed his family medicine residency at UK. After working in private practice for several years, he returned to the University of Kentucky to finish a Master of Science degree in exercise physiology. He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Prior to joining the UHS staff in 2007, Black was on faculty at the University of Louisville, where he established the sports medicine fellowship and served as team physician.
