About

Dr. Peter J. Haigh is a non-invasive cardiologist at the University of Kentucky. He graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine and went on to complete both his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at University of Wisconsin. He has advanced training in nuclear cardiology and echocardiography, including transesophageal echocardiography guidance for structural heart interventions. Dr. Haigh focuses on prevention of cardiovascular disease with patients, highlighting the importance of adopting a health lifestyle and management of cardiovascular risk factors, including hypertension and hyperlipidemia. As a passionate educator, Dr. Haigh teaches medical students, residents, and fellows at UK as they progress through medical training.

Personal Statement

Outside of work, Dr. Haigh enjoys spending time with his family, distance running, hiking, fly fishing, and cheering for his favorite sports teams.

    Dr was good listener and walked thru cardio status and assessment as well as concerns being low. He also sent message in emr regarding lipid profile. He also called me after to discuss my questions.

    Dr Haigh is very concerned about my health. He listens to me and explains why some things are necessary even though I don't want to do them. He very informatively explains why they are necessary. One of the best doctors I've ever had.

      Was seen by two physicians. The first I assume was a resident. He spent the majority of time with my wife and I. He was extremely attentive and informative. Answered any questions my wife (a retired RN and very involved in my care) oi I had. Dr. Haigh (sp?) followed him in and was the same. Very impressed with the amount of time that they both spent with us. Probably an hour plus combined.

      Absolutely the Best Doctor I have EVER experienced. Without a doubt, if it wasn't for Dr. Haigh and Dr. Kundu, I would not be here today. The two Doctor's were/are a true Blessing. I have recommended both on a Nationwide level within my career with The Major League Baseball Association.
