I was very pleased with this visit. Dr. Perry inquired about my feelings regarding prior visits of trying rib manipulation (can't think of the exact procedure name) with Dr. Van Zyl, my prior pain levels, current standing of the issue, and what actions we can take in the future. He took the time to listen to my comments, and answer all of my questions or concerns. I was very satisfied upon leaving this appt.

The resident was more involved & helpful than *Dwan Perry was, unfortunately. *Perry told me to "just continue" with my PT even though my shoulder is worse than before; he seemed to think that the pain I was having was just from exercising. ( I know the difference b/w good pain & bad). When I asked whether I should have an MRI as a follow up to the rads, he 1st dismissed the idea on the assumption that we would just be looking for something to be "wrong". He said, "so if it turns out with a result that is negative, what, are you going to have surgery!?" in a very dismissive way. I just want to know what is wrong w/my shoulder. If surgery would be helpful that seems like a conversation to be had AFTER proper diagnostics, not to be dismissed out of hand. He did order an MRI but only after also warning that my insurance might not cover it.

The wait time was much longer than the actual visit with Dr. Perry. Once Dr. Perry came in, he basically told me about the referral for PT for my gait abnormality. We never really talked about the stress fracture or any other in-depth details regarding my injury (the fracture was discussed more with the assistant). I was given my PT referral and follow-up appt at checkout.
