About

Kelly K. Moore earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology with an Athletic Training Minor in May, 2003 from Morehead State University and her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University in May, 2006.  She decided to pursue a career in hand therapy immediately following graduation because she enjoyed Orthopaedics/Sports Medicine as well as the challenge and intricacies of the upper extremity. Kelly obtained board certification in Hand Therapy from the Hand Therapy Certification Commission in 2012.

Kelly began her career in Lexington, KY working for a private practice hand therapy clinic.  In 2008, she was given the opportunity to start two hand clinics close to her hometown of Harrodsburg, KY.  She then returned to Lexington to work for a short time before moving to Atlanta, GA to pursue an opportunity to work at Georgia Hand, Shoulder, and Elbow (GHSE) Institute and Microsurgery Center.  In GA, she was part of the team that created content and hosted the annual GHSE Upper Extremity Symposium.  When she returned to KY in 2015, she assisted in developing an educational training program for young therapists wanting to pursue a career in hand therapy.  Her clinical interests lie in orthosis fabrication and treating traumatic injuries

Personal Statement

I decided early in life that I wanted to work in a healthcare profession, although originally not knowing which professional path I wanted to take.  I knew that I wanted the opportunity to help people recover from accidents/injuries and illnesses and assist them in returning to all of their valued activities. I also love educating OT students, training young therapists to become certified hand therapists, and developing educational/hand therapy programs.  I am an avid sports fan and UK fan, with football season being my favorite time of year!  I love spending time with my husband, pup, friends and family and being active.  I am so excited to be back in Lexington, working at UK and serving my local community!
