The complexity of cancer often requires the involvement of many different branches of medicine. Our radiation oncologists work closely with other physicians at UK Markey Cancer Center and others to create specialized multidisciplinary teams to evaluate and treat disease groups, which means that physicians and nurses from multiple specialties work together when appropriate with each patient to develop the best treatment plan for their particular circumstances.
