About

Dr. Leanne Clevenger is a fellowship-trained and board-certified ophthalmologist at UK Advanced Eye Care. She specializes in diagnosing and treating various retinal conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal detachment and tears. She is able to perform an array of surgeries, including retina surgery and vitrectomy.

Dr. Clevenger earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She then went on to complete her residency and fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic’s Cole Eye Institute, where she served as Chief Resident from 2021 to 2022.

Personal Statement

A Lexington native, Dr. Clevenger is grateful that she gets to provide retina care to the people of Kentucky and surrounding states. She believes in prioritizing her patients’ personal goals, while applying the most advanced treatments and surgical techniques. She is also passionate about trainee education and advancing ophthalmology research at UK HealthCare.
