About
Dr. Keisuke Ueda is a pediatric neurologist at UK HealthCare who treats children with movement disorders, including cerebral palsy, dystonia, tics and Tourette syndrome, tremor, ataxia, myoclonus, and chorea. He offers advanced treatment options, such as botulinum toxin injections, in an effort to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives.
Dr. Ueda works closely with specialists from physical medicine and rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy to provide comprehensive, coordinated care. He also participates in joint case reviews with the adult movement disorders team to ensure patients benefit from a broad range of expertise.
Originally from Japan, Dr. Ueda earned his medical degree from Keio University School of Medicine in Tokyo, where he also completed his internship and pediatric residency. After working as a general pediatrician in Japan, he moved to the United States for further training. He completed a pediatric neurology residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, followed by a fellowship in pediatric movement disorders at Washington University in St. Louis. There, he led clinics for conditions such as cerebral palsy, Tourette syndrome and other movement disorders, and gained experience in treatments like deep brain stimulation and botulinum toxin therapy.
Dr. Ueda was drawn to treat pediatric movement disorders because he saw how much children and families can struggle with these conditions, and he finds it rewarding to improve their quality of life. He joined UK HealthCare due to its strong commitment to patient-centered care, education and research. Dr. Ueda wants families to know that he takes time to listen, treats every child with kindness and respect, and works together with families to build treatment plans that meet each child’s unique needs.
