Christian Wingert, DPT

Dr. Christian Wingert is a physical therapist and certified strength and conditioning specialist at UK Sports Rehabilitation. He treats a wide range of orthopaedic and sports medicine conditions, including post-operative rehabilitation and return-to-sport care. He is also certified in dry needling.

He works with patients of all ages and activity levels, from recreational athletes to competitive performers. 

Dr. Wingert earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama, followed by his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Florida. He remained in Gainesville to complete a residency in orthopaedic physical therapy at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center.

With a personal background in volleyball, basketball, swimming, weightlifting and endurance running, Dr. Wingert is passionate about helping patients recover from injury, improve performance, and confidently return to the activities and sports they enjoy.
 

Personal Statement

I believe effective rehabilitation goes beyond simply reducing pain and restoring basic function. My approach combines evidence-based treatment with individualized strength, movement and sport-specific training to address the demands placed on each patient. 

I value collaboration and patient education throughout the rehabilitation process, with the goal of helping patients build confidence, perform at their best and return safely to an active lifestyle.
