About
William B. “Barry” Inabnet, MD, completed his undergraduate and medical training at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, before going on to complete his residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and his fellowship in surgical endocrinology at Cochin Hospital in Paris.
In addition to introducing new techniques in minimal access endocrine neck surgery, adrenal surgery and pancreatic surgery, Inabnet also focuses on minimally invasive metabolic surgery, primarily in obesity, disorders of the endocrine system and beta cell metabolism. For nearly 20 years, Inabnet has been an innovator of “scarless” thyroid surgery and has introduced numerous new techniques in the United States.
Inabnet has authored five textbooks, book chapters and more than 200 peer-reviewed articles. He is a member of the Southern Surgical Association, the American Surgical Association, the French National Academy of Surgery and the French Academy of Medicine, where he is one of four U.S. surgeons to achieve this honor. He also serves as the editor-in-chief of VideoEndocrinology, a video journal by the American Thyroid Association.
