About

Dr. Robert Walter Jensen specializes in neurology and neuro-ophthalmology at the Kentucky Neuroscience Institute. He focuses on visual and vestibular disorders of the central nervous system, epilepsy, and neuro-immunological and neuro-infectious diseases. He prides himself on careful evaluation and effective communication.     

Dr. Jensen received his Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Harvard Law School and was an active trial lawyer and managing partner of several law firms in Salt Lake City.

He later completed premedical training at the University of Utah, Bryn Mawr College and Villanova University and pursued his medical degree at the University of California San Francisco. He then completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Virginia, followed by a preventive and occupational medicine and public health residency at the University of Kentucky and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (US-DHHS) in Rockville, Md. 

After service as a medical executive director and primary care physician with the Florida Department of Health, Dr. Jensen returned to UK and completed a neurology residency and chief residency. 

He was then selected for a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the University of Michigan Health W.K. Kellogg Eye Center.

To master ocular motility, Dr. Jensen completed a neuro-otology and ocular motility fellowship at Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. 

Dr. Jensen has served on faculty at numerous universities, including the Ohio State University, Texas Tech University, the University of Kansas and the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
