Ravi Shankar completed his medical school at Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal, India. He then completed his psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at West Virginia University, Morgantown. Following training he worked as faculty at University of Missouri, Columbia, where he served as psychiatry clerkship director, child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship director, and, most recently, psychiatry residency director.

Dr. Shankar is board certified by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry.
