About

Dr. Alexis Showalter is an optometrist at UK HealthCare who treats a wide array of vision conditions, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye syndrome and double vision after a traumatic brain injury.

A St. Louis native, Dr. Showalter earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City before attending the Arizona College of Optometry, where she graduated with honors. She then moved to Kentucky for a residency in ocular disease and vision rehabilitation at the Lexington VA Medical Center. 
 

Personal Statement

Vision remains an important sense in everyday life. I strive to find the best solutions for my patients to meet their unique goals. I remain passionate about visual health and look forward to providing you with well-rounded care.

Outside of optometry, I enjoy reading, painting and going to escape rooms with my husband.
