Yvonne Rice received her BSN from the University of Kentucky in 1993. She earned her MSN with a family nurse practitioner track from Eastern Kentucky University in 2012. Rice completed her DNP at Eastern Kentucky University in 2014. Her capstone project was titled, “Implementation and Evaluation of a Trauma Team Simulation Training Program.” Rice obtained a post master’s certificate and certification as an adult gerontological acute care nurse practitioner in 2015. She is certified as a family and acute care nurse practitioner. Her nursing practice spans more than 20 years, in the trauma ICU as a bedside nurse and with the Trauma and Acute Care Surgical Team as a nurse practitioner. She serves as a clinical preceptor for advance practice students and for the College of Health Science pre-physician assistance program.
