Keanu J. Gomez, APRN, FNP-BC

Ken J. Gomez is a board-certified nurse practitioner at UK HealthCare. He provides comprehensive, patient-centered care across the spectrum of infectious diseases, with a clinical emphasis on HIV management, viral hepatitis treatment and complex bacterial infections. He is passionate about addressing health disparities, fostering continuity of care, and empowering patients through education and long-term engagement.

A proud graduate of the University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University, Gomez completed his advanced practice provider fellowship in infectious disease through the UK Bluegrass Care Clinic. There, he gained extensive experience managing complex infectious conditions, including HIV, hepatitis, and infections in immunocompromised and hospitalized populations.

Before transitioning to advanced practice, Gomez served as a trauma-surgical nurse and charge nurse at UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital, where he developed a strong foundation in acute and critical care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based practice. His experiences caring for patients with multi-system injuries and postoperative infections inspired his continued focus on infectious disease management and antimicrobial stewardship.

Outside of his professional role, Gomez enjoys playing the piano, serving as a church organist, spending time with his Samoyed puppy, Cloud, and sharing meaningful moments with family.
