Personal Statement

 

Early in my life, I knew I wanted to be a nurse and care for people. I became a Neonatal ICU nurse and loved watching the little ones grow and defy odds on a daily basis. We nurses were advocates for these children, as well as their families. During this time, I decided I wanted to be a Nurse Practitioner so I could care for and advocate for my patients along the entire lifespan – from newborn to elderly.

I thoroughly enjoy getting to know and care for my patients. The most rewarding experience as a provider is to help patients and witness their progress as they improve their health, overcome obstacles and reach their goals. 

Great medicine treats and cares for the whole person. Proverbs 17:22 says, “A joyful heart is good medicine,” and I truly believe that laughter and love is the greatest medicine. As a Nurse Practitioner, I want to consider the whole person - spiritually, physically and mentally – to help them achieve optimal health and live a full and happy life.

      I was a bit concerned at not being able to see my doctor, however, I would recommend Amber Ballard to anyone as a first choice for a provider and I will likely try to see her again in the future.
