Personal Statement

Early in my life, I knew I wanted to be a nurse and care for people. I became a Neonatal ICU nurse and loved watching the little ones grow and defy odds on a daily basis. We nurses were advocates for these children, as well as their families. During this time, I decided I wanted to be a Nurse Practitioner so I could care for and advocate for my patients along the entire lifespan – from newborn to elderly.

I thoroughly enjoy getting to know and care for my patients. The most rewarding experience as a provider is to help patients and witness their progress as they improve their health, overcome obstacles and reach their goals.

Great medicine treats and cares for the whole person. Proverbs 17:22 says, “A joyful heart is good medicine,” and I truly believe that laughter and love is the greatest medicine. As a Nurse Practitioner, I want to consider the whole person - spiritually, physically and mentally – to help them achieve optimal health and live a full and happy life.

  I absolutely love my primary doctor, so far every advice she has given me, if I do it, it helps, she is correct every time!   Dr. Ballard is always great at listening and never judges, and is always willing to help or test for things to the best of her abilities. Some doctors try to avoid running tests and try to pass you off to someone else, but she doesn't do that. I feel like she's a safe person to come to.

  Care provider mentioned prescribing me a medication I have been on for 2 years. This provider is who originally prescribed the medication. I didn't feel like the provider was prepared to have a clinical conversation with me about my care. I don't think she had even reviewed the chart prior to coming into the room.

  I use to see this provider for years a while back then she left that practice. Once I found out where she went to I started seeing her again. She really cares and listens. She knows all of my medical history. She tends to my needs right away and also refers me to specialists if needed. She has great bed side manners.
