About
Ryan McGuire earned his master’s degree and clinical doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Kentucky. He has been a sports clinical specialist (SCS) since 2018, a board certified orthopaedic clinical specialist (OCS) since 2010 and a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) since 2006. He also holds a certification in dry needling, a treatment designed to ease muscular pain. Throughout his career, McGuire has worked with high school, collegiate, professional and Olympic athletes.
In addition to his clinical work, he holds a position as an adjunct clinical faculty member in the UK physical therapy program. He previously taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center physical therapy program in Dallas. McGuire has presented locally and nationally at continuing-education courses on sports rehabilitation and manual therapy. He was also part of the group that developed and established the first physical therapy residency program at UK and currently serves as both co-director and mentor of that program.
