About

John Jurjans has been at UK Sports Rehabilitation since 2010 after moving from Southeastern Pennsylvania with his wife and two children. He has been a physical therapist since 1998 after graduating from the University of Delaware physical therapy program. In 2001, he completed a sports physical therapy fellowship at Duke University. He was board certified as a sports clinical specialist in 2004 and has been certified as an athletic trainer since 2002. He obtained a clinical doctorate from the University of Kentucky in 2013. Jurjans has given presentations locally and nationally on a variety of sports medicine topics. His special interests in physical therapy include rehabilitation of sports medicine injuries as well as post-operative care for extremity surgical procedures. Jurjans was part of the group that established the first physical therapy residency program at UK and currently serves as both co-director and mentor of that program.
