Last year, it was estimated that about 53,000 cases of pancreatic cancer would be diagnosed. Unfortunately, 43,000 people will also die from this cancer each year. Although these numbers are staggering, doctors and researchers are diligently working to better treat this disease and to hopefully find a cure.
UK Markey Cancer Center's Dr. Michael Cavnar is one such provider. On this week's episode of UK HealthCast, Cavnar discusses pancreatic cancer's red flags and care plans as well as the importance of a multidisciplinary care team and what's on the horizon for new drugs and treatments.
