About
Dr. William Robertson is a board-certified pediatric neurologist at UK HealthCare with decades of experience in treating child neurology and neuromuscular disorders. His passion for pediatric neurology stems from a lifelong dedication to helping children and families navigate complex neurological conditions with compassion and clarity.
He earned his medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta and completed his internship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. After serving as a General Medical Officer in the U.S. Navy, he pursued pediatric residency training at the Naval Hospital in Virginia and later served as Chief of Pediatrics at the Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.
Dr. Robertson completed a three-year fellowship in child neurology at the Mayo Clinic and worked at the University of Wisconsin–Madison as well as the University of Kentucky. After 20 years in private practice in Lexington, he returned to UK HealthCare in 2020, where he currently serves as a professor of neurology and pediatrics.
Known for his warm, patient-centered approach, Dr. Robertson prioritizes understanding each child personally. He often uses fun, lighthearted questions to help ease anxiety and build trust during visits.
