Personal Statement

Before I entered medical school, I earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Vanderbilt. I believe my nursing background makes me a better doctor. I strive to get to know my patients and address individual concerns. Communication is key. As much as I like spending time with patients, my favorite days are spent in the operating room, because I like to fix things. 

Outside medicine, I love spending time with my family. We often travel to Montana or the beach. I am a proud founder of the Tri For Sight triathlon, and I especially enjoy swimming.
