Welcome to the new Kentucky Neuroscience Institute Inpatient Units

Featured amenities

Epilepsy monitoring unit

This new specialized inpatient unit uses state-of-the-art continuous video-electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring technology to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with possible epilepsy. With 12 monitored rooms, this is the largest EMU in Kentucky.

Inpatient rehabilitation suite

With a dedicated neuro-trained rehab specialist and rehab suite on-floor, inpatients can begin comprehensive PT/OT on the same floor as the rest of their care.

Portable CT scan and dedicated radiology space

On-floor CT scan brings radiology services to patients in their room so they aren’t required to travel across the hospital or to a different floor to a separate radiology unit.

Access to Interventional Radiology

The new inpatient floor is co-localized with our new neuro-interventional radiology procedure space. The NIR space contains 43 prep/recovery beds with multiple new angio suites, including 2 biplane suites, and an intraprocedural CT for complex cases.

Meals for longtime visitors

Kitchenette spaces for families and visitors of patients staying for long periods of time offer convenient and more affordable meal options than cafeteria and dine-out alternatives.

Lounge areas

Comfortable, warm and inviting lounge areas are available for families and visitors to the floor.
