Ms. Carol, our nurse practitioner, allowed me to ask questions and she offered clear answers. It was clear that while she was the medical expert, we were in a partnership for the care of my son. I appreciate her respect, care, and attention.

Discussed weight in a negative manner, made me feel like being fat was my fault and the reason i'm sick. Judged my tattoo and made several disrespectful comments about my weight.

I especially appreciate how she acknowledged patient's anxiety about getting the flu vaccine.

I asked what I viewed as a reasonable question about secondary infections that was received poorly by the practitioner. The practitioner proceeded to explain how secondary infections to me multiple times. I really only needed this information once, and felt belittled by the practitioner harping on how my son did not have a secondary infection. I did not need the practitioner to explain this to me multiple times. Also the nurse said we could leave and the practitioner saw us leaving, got annoyed, insisted that we stay for them to repeat the same information they'd already given me.

My son had a fever and ear pain, the provider looked and said there was redness and swelling but noreflectionon exam to indicate infection. There was no further investigation on what was causing his fever. We were told she would order him drops and this was not done. She didn't listen after asking a question or seem interested in what we were trying to say were the concerns. That night his ear drum likely ruptured since there was bloody fluid on his pillow, his ear pain continued to get progressively worse. We went to our UTC the next day because there were no appointments available at the twilight clinic and he was then diagnosed with an ear infection and given antibiotics. The provider at the UTC was very surprised that he had been seen the day before and not given antibiotics as his ear was very infectedand he had a fever with Tylenol and motrin.

She can come off as abrupt at times, but I do think she is thorough, which I appreciate. I felt like she dumbed down her explanations to me unnecessarily, but I realize it probably wasn't personal, and maybe she sees a lot of families who don't understand more technical terms. That is very nitpicky of me...Overall, I do think she is a good practitioner!

Family history was not asked about in regard to the problem we were there for, do not feel like it was taken seriously and just given a general reason as to why it was happening. Reason was not even explored if it could be possibly be the cause.
