UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital 60th Anniversary
REDEFINING PATIENT CARE
FOR 60 YEARS
In April 1962, UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital officially opened its doors and welcomed its first patients. Elected officials, community proponents and healthcare champions had long advocated for a hospital at Kentucky’s land-grant, public university. Together, as one community, they achieved what many believed a lofty, audacious goal. It was merely the beginning. UK Chandler Hospital’s 60th Anniversary is an occasion to celebrate Kentucky’s shared history for redefining patient care for the people of the Commonwealth. Moreover, it is an opportunity to share UK HealthCare’s vision for a healthier Kentucky.
