About

I grew up in Lexington, KY. After graduating from the Medical College of Georgia in 1994 I completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Cincinnati. I worked at the VAMC in Lexington for 18 years in multiple roles. I was an emergency room attending for ten years, in 2008 I was one of the first four hospitalist that the Lexington VAMC hired. In 2011 I took the position of Director of Hospice and Palliative Care. I became board certified in Hospice and Palliative Care in 2012. I started my current position on the Palliative Care inpatient consult team at UKHealthCare in 2016.

Personal Statement

My focus is from a holistic viewpoint. I most often and providing care to patients in difficult situations. The value in caring for patients and their families in difficult times, when options are poor cannot be measured.
