Kentucky Children's Hospital Mobile Unit
Two percent of Kentuckians age 16 and older have no access to transportation — and that, combined with a lack of pediatricians and subspecialty providers, creates a perfect storm of delayed care for the Commonwealth’s greatest resource: our youth.
The Coaches for the Kids Foundation heard this statistic in 2020 and felt compelled to act. After learning that the Colonel Harland Sanders Foundation was contributing a lead gift to help establish a pediatric mobile clinic to increase healthcare access, Coaches for the Kids gave a lead gift, enabling the unit to be purchased and built. This visionary leadership seeks to ensure that the highest quality care can reach children and families across Kentucky.
