Dr. Conklin performed Lasik surgery on me in 2001. I had not seen him for two decades, not really needing ophthalmologic care during that period. Cataract surgery is in my foreseeable future, so I reached out to his office. They scheduled me very quickly, and the entire office examination process was exceptional. Very competent and caring staff. And John Conklin is an outstanding physician.

Dr. Conklin basically came in, looked at my chart and said Cataract surgery was elective and I would need to determine if I wanted it or not. In regards to my questions about glasses, tired eyes from working on a computer all day and the glasses I had been given from my previous eye doctor, he shrugged, said they don't work and gave me some sample drops and said, this may help. He shrugged off most of my questions, seemed in a hurry to get going and I felt like he had no concern for my particular concerns. I'm even unsure why they had to dilate my eyes. He barely looked at them. Before I return, I will ask for another physician who will actually take an interest. The thing is, when I saw Dr. Conklin a few years ago, he was the exact same way. When I called for an appointment I asked for a new physician, but they said I needed to be seen by him since that was who I'd seen before, and all my records were under his name. I will go to an outside facility before I will be seen by him again.

Dr, John Conklin is one of the best doctors. He is so nice, explains everything in a manner you can understand. We recommend him to a lot of people.

  Dr Conklin was no doubt wishing to provide good care but I needed to google afterwards to find out the serious nature of an ulcerated infected cornea. I then had a lot of questions but no one to ask. I was left with the concern that whatever was infecting my eye was not cultured so the treatment felt like a best guess to me. I recall him mentioning staph but what if it isn't that? He told me to come back if the treatment wasn't working but I had no idea of what I might expect, in what time frame. This morning I decided that I wasn't comfortable with the care I received and made an appointment with my regular ophthalmologist to check my progress.

  My complaint was, and remains, that I thought there was growth in a cataract or something else (on the exterior of the eyeball) that was annoying at best and interferes with vision clarity. Apparently, there was no such problem, or at least It wasn't addressed since Dr.Conklin was only Interested In checking whether there was any progress with early stage MD. He did suggest that, If I wanted, he would remove a cataract but my symptoms do not seem serious enough at this time for surgery.
