Dr. Lynda G. J. Eckhardt graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 2016 with her Doctorate of Pharmacy. Prior to pursuing a doctorate, Dr. Eckhardt earned her Masters of Business Administration from Morehead State University in 2007, and a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business & Economics in 2005. Prior to pursuing a career in pharmacy, Dr. Eckhardt worked in the financial sector for 3.5 years.
Dr. Eckhardt is a board-certified Internal Medicine Clinical Pharmacist at UK HealthCare Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Eckhardt has been employed with UK HealthCare since 2011. After serving as the Interim Inpatient Psychiatry Clinical Pharmacist, covering both adult and adolescent patients on the Behavioral Health Unit at UK Good Samaritan Hospital, Dr. Eckhardt formally accepted the Adult Inpatient Psychiatry Clinical Pharmacist position. Her current professional interests include: Infectious Diseases, Transitions of Care, Human Immunodeficiency Virus, and Precepting learners.
Dr. Eckhardt is passionate about providing access to long-acting injectable antipsychotic therapy and has been instrumental in the optimization of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) at UK HealthCare. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she is also involved with the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee, serving as one of the Good Samaritan Hospital pharmacist representatives.
